How Kaukus AS processes personal data about visitors to our website and users of cookies.

  • The content of your enquiry (message, question, demo request, etc.)

3.2 Information we collect automatically

When you visit kaukus.no, certain technical information is collected automatically. This is necessary for the website to function and to help us understand and improve how it is used:

  • IP address (anonymised where possible)

  • Time and duration of the visit
  • Which pages you visit
  • Referring URL (where you came from)

6. Sharing with third parties

Kaukus only shares personal data with third parties where necessary to deliver the service, and on the basis of data processing agreements that ensure the third party processes the data in accordance with GDPR.

Typical categories of third parties that may process personal data on our behalf in connection with the website:

  • Provider of web hosting and server infrastructure (Hetzner, Germany/Finland)

Kaukus does not sell personal data to third parties.

7. Retention period

We store personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected:

  • Enquiries via form or email: up to 24 months after the last contact, unless the enquiry leads to a customer relationship
  • Technical log data: 1 month
  • Cookies: in accordance with the duration specified in the table in section 5

8. Transfers outside the EEA

Kaukus' primary infrastructure is located within the EEA (Germany and Finland via Hetzner). Some third-party tools may involve transfers of personal data to countries outside the EEA.

Where such transfers occur, we ensure that there is a valid transfer basis under GDPR articles 45–47, typically the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

9. Your rights

You have the following rights when Kaukus processes personal data about you:

  • Access: You may request information about what data we hold about you and receive a copy.
  • Rectification: You may ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Erasure: You may request that we delete data about you when it is no longer necessary.
  • Restriction: You may ask us to restrict processing in certain situations.
  • Data portability: You may request to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection: You may object to processing based on legitimate interest.
  • Withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time.

Requests regarding your rights should be sent to support@kaukus.no. We normally respond within 30 days.

10. Complaints to the Data Protection Authority

If you believe that Kaukus is processing personal data about you in breach of the regulations, you may file a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet). We encourage you to contact us first so that we have the opportunity to resolve the matter.

11. Security

Kaukus has established technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, deletion and disclosure. These include access management, encryption of data in transit, backups and regular risk assessments.

12. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated following changes in legislation, our service or how we process personal data. The date of the most recent update is shown at the bottom of the page. We will notify significant changes on the website.
